The rich orange colour of this small 46cm Tolix stool makes this one of our personal favourites. The orange hue creates a feeling of warmth together with an intimacy that a small café or bar can offer. Copied from the original Tolix bar stool as designed by Xavier Pauchard in 1934, it’s made from powder coated steel with a orange coloured matte finish. The style is simple with an understated elegance and boasts a generous sized seat with gently tapering legs that are finished off with rubber caps to prevent slippage. Light in weight and yet very strong, these bar stools can be easily moved from one place to the next and stacked on top of each other for convenient storing.
Getting more bums on seats
The glorious orange colour of these bar stools works incredibly well either in an industrial type of café setting or one with a Moroccan feel or warm Mediterranean look. Paired with colours such as terracotta, chocolates and rich browns the orange Tolix stools will make your café stand out for all the right reasons. Throw in some deep purple or emerald cushions, set your tables with candles and dim the lights and your guests will feel transported to Marrakesh or Fez. When used in an industrial setting, the orange colour works really well with graphite greys, stainless steel and jet black to give a look that is truly stunning. If you want to create a feeling of the warm Mediterranean then how about grouping your orange coloured Tolix bar stools beneath a rustic timber counter set against cream coloured walls with some exposed brickwork and a rich wood floor or quarry tiles. The stools could also be used in awkward corners where there isn’t enough space for chairs, and will help to get more bums on seats at your busiest times of the day.
