Getting customers through your cafe doors can be challenging at the best of times especially with so much competition from nearby cafes. With Christmas under a month away – yes really, don’t imagine that it’s only the retailers who can expect a frenzy of activity leading up to THE day. We’ve put together some tips to encourage new customers through your doors and help lend some festive cheer!
Smell and sound like Christmas
There’s something about the smell of cinnamon, clove, and spiced apple that screams out Christmas even when you’re in the middle of a hot summer! Why not create some unique menu ideas that utilise these flavours to create a Christmas mood and to emphasise the festive season. What about serving a spiced apple and cinnamon latte or a Christmas pudding ice cream, and baking some Christmas inspired cupcakes? Create a relaxing and cosy ambience throughout with decorations and fairy lights and play a few Christmassy tracks. Don’t forget to put together plenty of snack friendly options that stressed out Christmas shoppers can eat on the go!
A time for giving
Christmas is a time for giving so why not host a charity coffee morning and sell tickets for a Christmas inspired raffle with plenty of yummy goodies as prizes, giving the proceeds to people in need. You could get friends and family to donate prizes or better still ask around some of the local businesses.
Talk to last year’s customers
Use the email addresses that you collected last year to send out an email detailing what you’re planning for your cafe over the festive period and going forwards into 2018. Why not offer them a discount on your specials? Be sure to share your news on all your social platforms together with some fun and festive Christmas banners.
Who doesn’t love to receive delightfully wrapped packages of food as gifts, we know we do? Why not create some unique gift packages of some of the most popular foods you sell. Perhaps it could be a collection of coffees or teas, jams and preserves, or your special iced gingerbread biscuits. Alternatively, put together some gift vouchers for customers to redeem for a limited period only. All of these ideas add a sense of urgency and will encourage customers to buy them before the date expires.
We’re great at giving helpful hints and tops but we also know a lot about cafe furniture and stock a wide collection to suit all tastes and budgets. If you need extra seating or tables to cope with the Christmas rush, then why not drop by our showroom in Campbellfield to see what we have to offer.
