Christmas is fast approaching and, if you haven’t done so already, it’s time to start thinking about how you’re going to attract more customers into your cafe during the Christmas break. If you’re located on one of the main city centre streets then chances are this may already be one of your busiest times of the year; but if you’re positioned away from the main shopping destinations, then Christmas can be a time with very little joy or good-will.
If you’re smart about it, however, there are numerous opportunities with people’s routines changing, to attract new customers through your doors who may be tempted by your beautifully decorated shop to come inside.
Introducing a special christmas range gives new customers a chance to sample your products and to visit more often. The great news is that it’s quick and easy to create new drinks with a squirt of whipped cream, a few marshmallows, a dash of syrup and some imagination.
Coffee and tea related gifts
Your customers may well be looking for gift ideas and stocking fillers, so don’t disappoint them. Have a think about what coffee or tea products you could start selling which would make a nice gift. You don’t have to buy in stock either. Instead you could package your products in clear cellophane wrapping tied up with ribbons and a festive gift tag, for a ready made gift that those strapped for time could come in and pick up.
Do you sell gift vouchers? These are always popular for people stuck to know what to buy for a person who seems to have everything. The vouchers could be exchanged for coffee and tea products or perhaps for a coffee and cake combo.
Another idea is to sell gift vouchers which are valid for January, thereby encouraging new customers through your doors in the first couple of weeks after the festivities have ended and all the excitement and hype has died down.
Ramp up your social media campaigns
One of the best ways to reach out to potential new customers is with social media. Be sure to use it to shout out about your seasonal range of festive goodies or special promotions or events that you’re running. You can schedule posts in advance when you have a little spare time to yourself.
Decorate your window
Finally, spend time making your venue look as festive as possible. Make sure your cafe window is beautifully decked out with christmas decorations and throw up some decorations and fairy lights inside too, so that passers-by are tempted in by a magical twinkling interior.
As well as giving out good advice, we also sell a wide range of cafe furniture. If you’re looking to upgrade your cafe furniture then how about introducing some colour to turn heads, by way of our colourful cabaret chairs, Tolix chairs or polypropylene chairs for outdoors?
