Cafe Table Bases – All You Need To Know
Cafe table bases come in a variety of sizes, styles, and materials so knowing which one to choose can be somewhat bewildering. We’ve put together a quick guide which talks you through the different types of bases together with a few facts for you to consider. Hopefully this will make it easier for you to choose the right base.
Types of cafe table bases
-
Round – This type of table base is always best used with a round table top, as not only does it look well-matched but it also improves the stabiity of the whole table and provides more room for customers to stretch out their legs.
-
Square bases – These are a good solution for larger tables which often require more than one base. In addition they help to spread the load more efficiently across the table providing more stabiliy.
-
X-bases – Cross shaped bases are often the preferred choice of cafe owners since they take up less space than square or round table bases which means there is more room for chairs or stools to be pushed beneath the table, when not in use. They’re also a good choice if your dining space is limited.
-
Tripod bases – These are similar in style to X-shaped bases and allow for space for chairs to be positioned beneath the table. They’re not as stable as round or square bases, however, because their surface area is smaller. The good news is that they can be used with any shape of table top.
-
Bolt down bases – These offer a permanent solution to preventing tables from wobbling or being moved around since the base literally bolts into the ground. This type of base allows more space for chairs and is ideal for wheel chair users or mobility scooters. On the downside, it does mean that you can’t change your seating design, so be sure you’re happy with your set up before installing blot down bases.
-
FLAT table bases – These are fitted with a hydraulics system that automatically levels to the surface that the table is stood on, ensuring there is no movement. It also makes light work of aligning tables. If you don’t want to purchase new bases but like the sound of FLAT technology then we also supply FLAT equalisers that can be fitted to existing table bases.
How many bases will I need?
This depends on the size and shape of your table. Most bases will state the maximum size of table top that they can support, so aways take note of this. Larger tables tend to require 2 bases but if you’re unsure, contact the sales team for confirmation.
